Kill Cheerleader - All Hail
Kill Cheerleader plays sleaze metal and is named after a girl to whom they all lost their virginity to. They’ve opened up for Judas Priest and jammed with Motörhead. They’ve been described as “an orgy between The Ramones, Guns ‘N Roses and AC/DC.” Their mission: “Play the ugliest and baddest punk-metal this side of the millennium and if you don’t like it go listen to lame radio rock shit and stay the fuck away from us!” Here is All Hail.

What I’ve just heard is an album filled with catchy music that makes your body move, whether you like it or not. Except from the songs ‘No Lullabies’ and ‘Hurt The People You Love’ - which are ballad-like songs and therefore are a little misplaced in my opinion - this album brings you a powerful set of good rock ‘n’ roll the way it was invented some decades ago. Still, with a modern twist to it.

Don’t think of nasty vocals and guttural sounds but think the raw-edged melodic way. It might very well remind one of The Hives. Makes me wonder whether I’m the stupid guy here or KC’s mission is a little overreacted ‘cause basically this music, although quite heavy sometimes, still fits the average modern radio stations. Heck, it’s catchy so why not let other people get familiar with this music. I mean, Guns ‘N Roses is on the radios too and Lemmy (Motörhead) himself says KC is “the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band since Guns ‘N Roses.”

Music wise there’s not a whole lot to complain about. Not that the album is filled with extremely groundbreaking music but the musicians seem to know what they’re doing. Add your daily dose of guitar solos - the ones that actually add the metal element to this album – and this music is likely to give you some hours of listening pleasure. Be sure to check out ‘Deathboy’, which is a typically sing-along song that sticks in your head as soon as you’ve heard it once.

Although All Hail seems to be widely appreciated by the metal-generations before mine, I still have my doubts. Could be my personal taste though. I’d say check this shit out if you’re into the bands mentioned above or just like to hear some catchy rock ‘n’ roll.
